Producer and terroir
Since 2003, Sylvie has been growing Mara des Bois strawberries in the Lot-et-Garonne region, specifically in Damazan. Sylvie is committed to being involved in day-to-day operations, particularly in the greenhouses, but also to the well-being of her team. This family farm, established by her husband Philippe, now covers more than 35 hectares of cropland.
Our region’s temperate climate produces delicate, nostalgic strawberries.

Cultivation practices
On the Zanuttigh farm, disease control is a matter that is not taken lightly. Indeed, the Mara des Bois variety produces small berries, which makes them susceptible to pests. To combat pest attacks, Sylvie and Philippe use biological control methods. Biocontrol products are also used. Furthermore, Sylvie loves to pamper her strawberries. To do this, the plants are carefully ‘combed’. This involves turning the stems outwards and removing dead leaves.
Environmental or social initiatives
The protection and conservation of natural resources are issues particularly close to Sylvie’s heart. With the occurrence of severe heatwaves, the issue of water management has become a priority more than ever.
To this end, in Damazan, our grower has installed a drip irrigation system to minimise water wastage. How does it work? The water supply is determined by measuring the plant’s needs, ensuring that the amount of water used is not excessive.
In addition, the Zanuttigh family make it a point of honour to share their work with consumers and schools. Visits are regularly organised to explain the strawberry production process in a fully transparent manner.
