Tomislav Obrenic has been a passionate berry grower for over 45 years. Located in the Arilje region of Serbia, the Obrenic farm was built in the 18th century.
His experience and dedication have made him a true expert in this field. As well as blackberries, Tomislav grows other fresh fruits such as plums and raspberries… He hopes that his descendants will carry on this work with the same enthusiasm as he has shown!

Cultivation practices
Tomislav grows his blackberries as a family business: more than three generations work day in, day out to produce fruit with an intense flavour. Indeed, the Obrenic family decided to grow blackberries for several reasons. The plots are situated in an area with a suitable microclimate, an optimal altitude and access to high-quality water. These are ideal conditions for the blackberries to thrive!
Environmental and social initiatives
Three generations live on the farm and run it as a small business. Tomislav’s wife, their son and their grandchildren are all fully involved in ensuring the estate’s development. During harvest time, the family takes on seasonal workers, whom Tomislav regards as members of the family.
