Madagascan lychees

Ligny and his teams grow the Litchi chinensis lychee variety in the Anôsy agricultural region of Madagascar. The orchards are located in the south-east of the island, in the heart of a mountain range, were the microclimate and long rainy season mean a better harvest. The fruit is fleshier, with a smaller stone. That’s why this region is ideal for growing lychees.

We grow our lychees in southern Madagascar, the region where the fruit flourishes the best, to make sure they are as flesby as can be

Ligny Hagnonjo, Madagascan lychee producer

A fruity and indulgent lychee purée

A very fragant fruit with ripe, sweet notes that linger in the palate. All the classic aromatic characteristics of southern Madagascan lychees.

Lychees grown the environmentally-friendly way

Ligny cultivates his fruit naturally and sustainably to produce the best lychees available. The orchards are tended to in a way that cares for the environment, using the air layering method to grow new trees, for example. Developing a lychee industry in the island’s south has put an end to the practices of burning old crops (lychees being a perennial). As a result, soils don’t lose their vitality and the surrounding forest is protected.
